What a full renovation includes
Every renovation is quoted from a survey, so the scope is written down before anything is ordered. A typical full renovation includes:
- Strip-out of the old suite, tiles and flooringAnd removal of the waste.
- First and second fix plumbingIncluding moving pipes and wastes where the layout changes.
- Electrical workLighting, extractor fans and shaver points.
- Boarding, levelling and tankingOf the wet areas, before a tile goes on.
- Wall and floor tilingOr PVC and SPC wall panels where you prefer them.
- Fitting the suiteBath or shower, toilet, basin, furniture and towel radiator.
- Sealing, trims and final checksWater flow, drainage, seals and fittings tested before handover.
If you only need part of this, a refurbishment can update the room without changing the layout. For a level-access shower or more space around the toilet and basin, see accessible bathrooms.
How a full renovation runs
Free home visit
We measure up, check pipe routes and ventilation, and talk through what the room can take. You get a written scope and quotation.
Design and choices
Choose suites, tiles and panels at our St Helens showroom, with a layout planned around the way you use the room.
Around four days on site
A typical full renovation takes around four days once work starts. That is an estimate: wet rooms and layout changes take longer.
Checks and handover
We test water flow, drainage, seals and fittings, and the 12-month guarantee on materials and workmanship runs from completion.

Prices, timescales and guarantee
As a guide, full bathroom refurbishments start from £3,600, and accessible bathrooms with level access start from £4,700. These are starting points rather than quotations: what a job costs depends on the size of the room, whether plumbing or electrics have to move, the tiling area and the suite you choose, so the only accurate figure is the written quotation you get after a free survey.
A typical full bathroom renovation takes around four days on site once work starts. That is an estimate rather than a guarantee: wet rooms, layout changes and structural work take longer, and we will tell you if something we find on site changes the plan.
12-month guarantee
Materials and workmanship are guaranteed for twelve months from completion, subject to the terms supplied with your quotation.
£1 million public liability
We carry £1 million of public liability insurance on every job we take on.

Planning, building regulations and your property
Many like-for-like bathroom replacements fall outside planning and building regulations approval, but moving a soil connection, altering circuits, removing part of a wall or forming a new bathroom commonly do need approval. The property owner is responsible for confirming their own position with local authority building control before work begins. The Planning Portal guide to kitchens and bathrooms and the GOV.UK building regulations guidance are good places to start.
Private tenants need the landlord's written permission, and council and housing association tenants need their landlord's written approval. Leaseholders in a flat usually need freeholder or managing agent consent, and listed buildings and conservation areas carry a further layer. None of these replace building regulations approval, and we cannot obtain any of them on your behalf. This is general information, not advice about your property.
